lightly salted and greenlines surf trunks are proud to announce a little party celebrating a cooperation of efforts hatched this spring and made a reality early summer 2011. the party showcases the limited edition surf trunks worked on by both lightly salted and greenlines. the sea print pockets are made from vintage recycled denim, and work to compliment the functional and clean surf style that greenlines trunks have been proudly producing in the usa for years now.

join us Tuesday night july 26th on the boardwalk in asbury park for the special surf night/release party. beer specials, taco specials and general good times. we will be showing mikey detemples "sight/sound" movie that night on the boardwalk for those of you that have not been able to catch it yet.

i was asked to be part of the great benefit show, put on by brooklyns own shaping son rick malwitz. he made 24 surfboard mid-drifts and send them all over the world for people to creat on or in my case around...

the boards will be on display in the quicksilver soho store starting tomorrow for a week and there will be a show and opening on october 3rd at the 303 gallery in williamsburg.

if you are around surf-aid could sure use the support and if you see rick, thank him for putting all of this together. he was and is tireless. sleep is over-rated. plus shaping when you are shit tired is good for you...

1. i got the day off and was able to print some stuff. like for example a rainbow fin company macker lent to me from the head squid. part of a 6 print printing session, peep the stuff. ANYONE OUT THERE INTRESTED IN THE FIN LOVE PROJECT, AND HAS A GALLERY, I AM LOOKING, SO HIT ME UP.

2. i just read (i know, i'm probally weeks late, but hey... i've been busy) that the poloroid plant was bought and plan to keep printing film will begin in 2010. so i guesss the stockpiling plan, for future use can be put on hold for a bit, fuckin a, snapping away again...

we just got back from working and playing in stratton vermont, so sorry for the delays... rain and icy love, good for the footing and the soul.

first, i started a blog for the shop planned to be open may or june of 2008, on the boardwalk in asbury park, nj. lightly salted surf shop is the name, and the .blogspot is the place. i will update as concrete progress continues...

secondly, i have begun photo work on my fin love project hopefully having a place in a big white-walled gallery this summer. anyone out there interested in hearing more on it should contact me for the secret information that will impress, i hope. at least it is a good story with a long and interesting heritage. this is step one in a multi step process i have been hatching for some time now.

i've also been doing some painting, here is the genesis of that, i will update the progress as soon as i stretch the third canvas in the series. enjoy.

FIRST, before pics. i just found longtime friend tedo3000's blog/suckspace/website. so if you have a sense of humor and hate hipsters as much as us, check him out, just ignore the big glasses. they help him read "smart people" books.

so, what i plan to try and do with most of my mindless scribble is to make function and art together. so in further study of the process i brought the dewey weber pig down to mexico with me. it's a fat girl single fin, and i took out the fin that i got with it and brought the fin off of my "one for skip" canvas/driftwood/resin peice. i inserted the fin upon landing in mexico, had a fuckin good 9 days, returned home, and placed the fin back into the picture on the wall.

the experement worked well and i was able to birth some big ideas i have for this winter. it's just so god damned cold...

sorry for repeating, but i had some time in-between stuff this week to finish the above peice. so, the baby has been put to bed. full shots of this picture will be on my website, as soon as chase fuckin calls me back. the uno peice is in the works, i did some studies on wood a couple of months ago, but i thinks it's time to put it on canvas.

i have begun work on a peice that i have started and stopped on again and again. it is the story of a dawn patrol session i had after a long night of margs and bar sitting with my friend matt. it is part of my three fin life that tells of my exploits in my 20's. the basis of my work tries to explore my single, twin and three fin lives that have shaped who i am today, why i still surf and why i paint/draw/scribble and pain to do these things you see here. stay tuned for the complete picture, cause i think it is time to put this baby to bed.

noel is supposed to give us some surf this weekend. i hope to get some shots to send to rob havasy for being part of his "surf story" exhibit. that is if i don't surf like shit again...

there was a vintage board sale at the beach house surf shop in bay head, nj this weekend (i'll link thier page soon...). it was good to see the amount of people intrested in long and short surfboards from a couple of decades ago. all kinds of people looking all different there to see the surfboards.

pops garage is going to be great. anyway here is my fathers chanin single wall hanger. every once in a while she gets wet. i hope this gets linked soon. waves and HAGTOBER FEST contest on saturday, look for updates and pics.

i really am having fun with ink and shirts. the process is not anywhere near perfect, but everyday, i get a bit closer to gettin it right. here are some of the dora shirts, testing will be done, changes will be made and they will be ready for the shelves may 2008 in the airstream. i hope you like them if anybody wants some blemished ones send me an e-mail and i will send you one. not perfect but good nonetheless. some small rippers today. i hope someone out there in webland had some fun like i did. keep it up.
